Submit to Creative Expressions! Join the #KindnessInAction QTPOC Open Mic

Art is powerful. It can change hearts, minds, and ultimately, our society and culture. For No Name-Calling Week 2019 we are encouraging students and educators across the country to create artwork using the theme of #KindessInAction in K-12 schools, because we believe that artwork has the power to change school climates for the better.

We are encouraging students and educators to showcase their art in Creative Expressions exhibits in their own schools, but also to submit their artwork for the chance to be featured by GLSEN online. Some entries will also be awarded with copies of LGBTQ and most-popular books from Simon & Schuster. Submissions will close January 31st.

We are also amplifying spoken-word pieces by queer and trans students and educators of color in our #KindnessInAction Open Mic, which will be broadcast on Facebook Live during No Name-Calling Week. You can view a recording of last year’s Open Mic here.
